One of the great joys of our week is to go out each Sunday morning and pick up children and their families for Sunday School. The Bible is clear that we are to “…go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in…” We know of no better way to obey Christ’s command than through our bus ministry. Dedicated volunteers visit these homes each Saturday in hopes of being a blessing. They then arrive each Sunday morning to welcome these families to another Lord’s Day at God’s House. Back in the 80’s, the Lord put it on the heart of one of our members to reach out to the drivers that stopped in at the local truck stop just down from our church. That idea blossomed into a wonderful ministry that is still going strong. Each Sunday morning at 8:30, our folks converge on the TV room and hold a service for anyone who wishes to attend. Over the years, we have seen many drivers profess faith in Christ. This ministry is also a great blessing to the staff and those drivers who must be away from their home churches while on the road.

Each Sunday afternoon at 3:30, a faithful band of volunteers hold a service for the precious residents of Carrington Place, an assisted living facility here in Wytheville. Each service provides an opportunity for those in attendance to enjoy their favorite hymns, offer up prayer requests, listen to Bible preaching and bask in much needed Christian fellowship. This ministry has afforded many opportunities to be a blessing to the residents as well as their families and the staff.
